Blinds, the button & positions
Where you sit decides how much you know when you act. Learn the seats, then name them on the table below.
The button (BTN) moves one seat clockwise every hand. The two players after it post forced bets — the small blind and big blind. Preflop, action starts at UTG (left of the BB); after the flop it starts left of the button. Acting later = more information: that's why the button is the best seat in poker, and why strong players play more hands from late position.
